New products and combination therapies
Scientists at Genelux continue to explore innovative ways to enhance and adapt the Genelux technology. Opportunities to further optimize the virus for specific types of cancers, patients or imaging modalities are immense. The large insertion carrying capacity of the virus could enable the development of combination therapies that would use viruses to deliver traditional cytotoxic anti-cancer drugs (such as chemotherapy) to tumors only. The virus could also carry “payloads,” such as imaging modalities or “immune system re-building components” to help patients recover more quickly from the cancer.
