Dr. Staib holds a PhD in biochemistry and human genetics and a master’s degree in biochemistry, microbiology and animal physiology from the University of Würzburg. Her PhD thesis was honored as the best in the University of Würzburg in 1998. In 2007 she completed her habilitation in Virology at the Medical Faculty of the Technical University of Munich in Germany. Dr. Staib joined Genelux Corporation in 2006. As head of product development, she manages virus manufacturing, product optimization, quality control and analytical characterization. She collaborates with the scientific research team for preclinical product testing and with the clinical trials team for preparation of regulatory documents. Prior to joining Genelux Corporation, she was head of a research group at the Institute of Virology at the Technical University of Munich in Germany, where she gained eight years of experience carrying out leading research in the field of orthopox- and vaccinia viruses, with an emphasis on vaccine development and optimization. Dr. Staib has (co-)authored a variety of original peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as reviews, book chapters and patent applications.

Dr. Joachim-Friedrich Kapp joined Genelux in 2005 as Chief Advisor of Corporate Strategies and Business Development. In 2007, he accepted the position of Director of Clinical Development, Oncology. He was elected to the Board of Directors in September 2006. Prior to his involvement with Genelux, Dr. Kapp worked for Schering AG, where he rose from a science director to President and Global Head of Therapeutics Business, before retiring in 2005. He has also worked in various capacities for Warner Lambert and its subsidiaries, including VP & Head of International Clinical Development. He holds an MD and a PhD from the University of Essen in Germany.

Dr. Albert Röder joined Genelux Corporation in 2004 after retiring from Roche Applied Science as Head of Global R&D and Marketing Support. In February of that year, he was elected to the Board of Directors of Genelux Corporation. His distinguished 33-year career in the pharmaceutical industry included several operative and leadership positions in research and development, manufacturing, marketing, strategy and business development within international cross-functional teams. Before joining Roche, he worked for Boehringer Mannheim Biochemical, where he rose to Head of Research in Enzymology/Proteinchemistry and Chemistry, then to Head of the Global Product Supply Unit. He holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Tübingen in Germany.

Dr. Jochen Stritzker joined Genelux Corporation in San Diego in January 2005 as a senior scientist, after completing a master’s degree in microbiology, cell and developmental biology and his PhD in microbiology, both from the University of Würzburg. In 2005, his PhD thesis was honored as the best in the University of Würzburg. As Director of Molecular and Clinical Imaging, he handles further scientific development and human application of the live vector-based imaging techniques and optical imaging and supervises the research program with graduate and post-doctoral students on whole body imaging in Würzburg. He also coordinates with partnering clinical and research institutions, as well as potential collaborators in the commercial imaging industry.
